Just when you thought it was safe to get back out of the foxhole. there is yet another salvo set to suck more time from your day.
I logged into Twitter this morning (Saturday Sydney Time +10 GMT) and immediately noticed that my avatar and background image were missing from my twitter page.
I suspected foul play, or more correctly, another worm. I have been the victim about 3 times now so I am quick to jump to conclusions.
Turns out there is twouble in the twitterverse HQ again. A caching error causes the problem. There is a link to the status page is below.

I am still concerned with the frequency of problems with Twitter. I know most of the people reading this are fans of the product. however there Is cause for concern, stuff like this is happening far too frequently. I have said it before, it’s time that Ev and the crew stopped growing and start consolidating and strengthening the platform.
Articles that predict facebook will crush Twitter are not only bogus, they lack thought. . Twitter will grow and prosper provided it is built on a solid foundation. That foundation is crumbling around Twitters feet at the moment and they need to react soon or the naysayers will end up being right.
Followon:
On September 24th over 5 days later, the message on the Twitter blogsite is still the same. There have been no updates and the Avatars and backgrounds have not been put back. I did not have an exact copy of the background image but made a fair facsimile of the one that was there. And I put my ugly mug back in the avatar spot. I wonder if when they do finally get around to fixing the problem they will overwrite the current images. We will see…..
